Customize T-Shirts

The t-shirt you use makes a difference when you customize t-shirts. The quality of some t-shirts is definitely better than others. You must choose the t-shirts well so you come up with high quality customized t-shirts that will last a long time. Consider the following when you customize t-shirts.

Fabric. T-shirts are made from different types of materials. There’s cotton, cotton and spandex blend, jersey, 1×1 baby rib and many more. Use fine jersey if you are looking for that soft, flexible feel. If you customize t-shirts that are not meant to fade or shrink when washed, go for cotton/polyester blends. Do extensive research on fabric types to use for customized t-shirts and choose one depending on how you want the t-shirt to hold up.

Sizing. When you are confronted with different t-shirt brands to use for your customized t-shirts, don’t be surprised if the sizes are not the same across various brands. Expect that there is no actual universal size. The proportions (length and width) are often not the same. Choose the size of the t-shirts based on the style and figure you want. Find the brand that fits your requirements to a “T.”

Garment distortion. Select a t-shirt brand that is known for not fading and does not shrink to a size smaller than the original size. Remember that there is an expected shrinkage the first time you wash a t-shirt. Find out what the shrinkage percentage is for the brand you are eyeing to use. Test t-shirts of different brands before you decide.

Color. Opt for a brand of t-shirt that offers you the colors that you like. Hanes for example has many standard colors to choose from. American Apparel has trendier colors that you may want to use when you customize t-shirts. If you visit the manufacturer’s website, keep in mind that the colors you see on your screen may not be the exact colors of the actual product.

When you customize t-shirts, one of the major decisions you have to make is which brand of t-shirt you start with. You want your customized t-shirt to be made of fabric that you like and comes in the size and color according to your envisioned style. Shrinkage should also be considered. Spend time testing and selecting so you get the right t-shirt for your one-of-a-kind t-shirts.
